It's quite hard to find balance in everything, but it's important and necessary in life for good health – and sanity! I have been trying to balance my personal and work life, however, it's quite difficult since I regularly work overseas and live onsite in company accommodation. I spend most of my time traveling; traveling for work, traveling back home to Taiwan, and for getaways to Hong Kong every other weekend. Often I find myself restless and quite exhausted. So I decided I needed to focus on appreciating even a little time for myself, or a moment of doing absolutely nothing. I find a little time of being still refreshes the mind and allows me the time and space to self-reflect and actually hear my thoughts. To spend an afternoon in a cafe, reading books or magazines or even just sitting there people watching is perfect time to calm your thoughts and focus your attention on one thing. It became kind of my own way to balance out the busy week or sometimes the loneliness of being far away from friends and family and reconnect with myself. Little by little I'm getting used to being alone with myself and being single, and I'm feeling happier as I strive to achieving a balanced life.
